Help us shape Summer 2020

Ever since Movement began in 2015 our heart has been to serve young people and the local church.

In January 2018 we felt prompted by God to start exploring what a summer Movement gathering could look like.
As some of you will know, we launched a survey to find out what people’s thoughts were about Soul Survivor coming to an end & New Wine leaving the South West. We had a fantastic response with over 100 youth leaders from across the South West telling us their thoughts. Thank you to all of you who responded, it was incredibly helpful.

We have had many conversations with lots of key people and partners, as well as current and soon to be past stakeholders in this ministry area of leading summer festivals. But most importantly we've called and are continuing to call people to pray with us about this as we've look for a way forward, to what it'd look like if we were to be a part of the future of summer festivals.

We know that this is a risk, but we feel God is asking us to step up and step out in faith, that He is calling us to explore doing something fresh and new in the summer of 2020 for the young people of the South West and beyond!

If you’re a Youth, Church or Network Leader then help us shape summer 2020 for your young people & their friends.

We would love to invite you and anyone you know who's involved in youth work to one of our vision meetings in Feb & Mar 2019. We want to listen to your opinions, ideas and learn how we can best serve your young people.

Do you have some youth leader friends that you know would be interested in getting involved or hearing more about Summer Camp 2020? Then please feel free to let them know and get them to sign up for updates.

Can you get 10 or more Youth, Church or Network leaders together in one place? Then why not be a venue host for one of our Vision meetings in early 2019?

Why are you doing a summer camp?

  • Movement was established in 2015 to serve the young people of the South West for the other 51 weeks of the year outside of the Summer Event’s, such as Soul Survivor & New Wine. In early 2018 we felt the call of God to start exploring and search out what a summer event might look like for that 52nd week of the year.

Who is it for?

  • Summer Camp will be an event aimed at young people aged 12-18.

  • All under 18s will need to be accompanied by a group leader who is over 18.

Are you trying to be Soul Survivor?

  • No one group, or event, can ever replace what Mike and the team at Soul Survivor has done for British youth work.

  • We simply believe God is calling us to explore doing a new thing for a new generation.

Will there still be worship and teaching?

  • Yes & Yes

  • Worshipping Jesus is at the heart of every Movement gathering.

  • We are always exploring new ways to engage the next generation in our teaching and would love to hear your views on how best to do this.

Where will it be? How much will it cost? How Long will it be?

  • We want to listen to as many of you as possible and questions like the above are important ones as we look to create Summer Camp 2020 for you and and your young people.

  • Please get in touch with us and let us know your thoughts on these questions or come along and meet us in person at one of our vision evenings that we will be arranging in early 2019.

How can I get involved?

PRAY - Please do join us in prayer. Starting a new event like this is a logistical challenge and involves many organisations and people to work together. Please pray for strong relationships as we explore what Summer Camp 2020 could look like.

GIVE - We are looking for those who feel called to support the next generation of youth work financially. If you have a heart for young people and financial freedom please do get in touch.

SHOUT - We know that ‘word of mouth’ is far more effective than the best advertising campaign! We would love for you to talk with your friends and Church Leadership about what we’re doing, so we can tell as many people as possible – think of yourself as a Summer Camp 2020 Ambassador.
