SOTW - Praise Your Name & Great Things

Praise Your Name - Corey Voss

This made the Song of The Week on 18th February to be a reminder of the heavenly authority we have in Christ, and that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us!

Romans 8:11 (TPT)

“Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since God’s Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!”

This song holds such power as a warfare song, pushing back what the enemy may lead us to believe - “I’m gonna push through till every lie crumbles…” - and declaring the truth of the Father over our situations - “I’m rest in the arms of the Father…”. It is an example of using our authority that Jesus has given us to speak up against the storm - “Fear and depressions, shame and confusion, you have to bow…”, and then turning out victory through Jesus into Praise.

Great Things - Phil Wickham

This song made Song of The Week on 25th February as an anthem for the week, so we can go into it declaring God’s goodness.

Psalm 126:2-3 (TPT)

“We laughed and laughed and overflowed with gladness. We were left shouting for joy and singing Your praise. All the nations saw it and joined in, saying, “The Lord has done great miracles for them!” Yes, he did mighty miracles and we are overjoyed!”

Joel 2:21 (NLT)

“Don’t be afraid, O land. Be glad now and rejoice, for the Lord has done great things.”

This song from Phil Wickham is worship full of adoration and exaltation to who God is and what He has done for us. It shows us that it is right to be joyful in praise for all the good and great things He has and will do for us, His children.
